An error occurred while calling the callback: "Ribbon_GetDCVisible"
I have 2010 beta Office Professional loaded with Windows 7. I was working in MS Access 2010 beta last night importing a large data file from an Excel spreadsheet. Now this morning I started getting this error message when accessing Email in Outlook. This appears to be an add-in issue but why does it appear to be connected with my activities in Access last night? How do I get rid of the error?

I eliminated the error by deactivating the Access addin in Outlook. Not sure what this will affect but the error has disappeared.

Hi, sorry to bother you, I know that you posted this quite a while ago, but I am getting the same error, and I disabled the access add-in, but I am still getting the error.  I've ven restarted Outlook and my computer.  I am using Office 2010.  Any suggestions?  Trust me, any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks in advance!

Same problem ... SOMEHOW solved it ...

I do not normally use Access so after I reloaded Office 10 from a hard drive failure I had yet to use Access.  I opened it and closed it; somehow the problem stopped.  I would guess that whatever the program writes on its first use was not done so the error was caused.  Only a guess!

If you hear of any other solution please respond as it help to know a "real" solution.

I have the same problem with MS Outlook 2007.  I know that I can fix it by removing the add-in but is there a fix that would let me use it?

I encounter the same message issue... and my Solution is:

Found the real culprit of the "Ribbon_GetDCVisible" Error issue… Follow the steps below.

1)      Open MS Word application.

2)      Click on the big round RIBBON icon at the top right side of the Word window   then see below and click on [Word options] button

3)      Click on the advanced section.

4)      Scroll down and go to general.

5)      There is a check box which says “show add in user interface errors”.

6)      Uncheck the box and the errors should go away.

7)      It will work also if you do it in MS Excel, PowerPoint or any of the MS office application.

Please also note that McAfee says that by doing so the security of your computer is not compromised. Please refer to Kb71140 on the mcafee knowledge base for more information.

Check the add-ins you have installed in Outlook > > 1. Open Outlook -->Tools --> Trust Center - Add-ins > 2. In the manage box at the bottom, select "COM Add-ins" (should be > default) and click Go > 3. Uncheck "Microsoft Access Outlook Add-in for Data Collection and > Publishing" > 4. OK your way out

That worked for me  (I didn't "remove" it because it says that you have to "remove" the entire Office feature.  I just unchecked it and the error doesn't come up anymore).

Thank-you, thank-you, thank-you!  That was really aggravating!

Kelly_lly  --- I just wanted to take the time to say thank you, for the fix, but also for documenting and sharing it in a clear, easily navigable, and concise syntax (vice buttons, for example).
